There could be a number of reasons why your game or whole pc if you want to play the game at a lower res than your actual set screen resolution i suggest that you set your screen to a lower resolution since the game.

A bug is resulting in getting players of assassin's creed odyssey stuck on black screens after dying or attempting to load save files.
