When i play the game through the uplay launcher, it opens a new window for half a second and closes it right away, and when i launch it through the desktop shortcut it created, it asks me for an activation code, and it won't accept my key that came. Rename the icon to assassin's creed iv black flag just add one.exe my cousin had same problem and that fixed it i dunno if work for you but try. If you let him escape you won't be able to bring him down until he returns. A governor no longer is the memory (mission) in sequence 12 in assassin's creed iv black flag.
